be a major contributor. The windings may be the weaker of the materials when compaired to the connector material, less noble, so on that particular component the windings are attacked instead of the connectors. The winding coating is then cracked from the corrosion. Many others say this has been beat to death and it is ethanol. All I know for sure is that it is a crappy part. I wish someone would just measure the constant 12 volt current flow. If they have already cut the wire to create another break in the circuit, put a meter across it and measure the flow. Has no one done this?
